WOW friends! It has been over 2 years since I have written for the blog! I had all these good intentions of restarting early last year…and well, here we are! SO, there is plenty to share!
I think the biggest piece of news is we got ENGAGED in July 2021! And then finally set a date in January of this year! Once I started really thinking about it, I was so torn between fall or summer and couldn’t decide! Then we made some decisions….and then they didn’t feel right. You know Taylor Swifts “hey, it’s me, I’m the problem?” Yeah, that was me lol! So, after visiting a venue I kept having a strong pull to visit, we changed our plans and are very happy & excited to be planning for 2024!

Other news from 2021 I changed jobs leaving Rx Optical and went into the world of pharmaceutical research working for a global research company. While I learned a lot it ultimately wasn’t for me. In January 2022, I believe the first business day of the year, I accepted a position with our County Government and love my job! I work for a program that is nationwide but managed at state and then local area serving women who need Mammograms (and other breast services) and cervical services. I cant stress enough the importance of getting your screening services done! If you don’t have insurance or have a high deductible plan the BC3NP may be able to help! If you are not local to Michigan check into your states BC3NP guidelines.

I also joined the cool kids club and turned 40! And honestly, I had more issues with turning 30 than 40! Age really is just a number. I remember when I turned 30 thinking it was this horrible thing and then getting closer to 40 I was in denial lol. But you know what? Life is short, nothing is guaranteed in life and age is really just a number.

I’ve had some ups and downs health wise over the last few years but the most frustrating came about September of last year and I am still working through it. I am not going to go into a lot of detail here as I have a series of posts coming where I am going to break it all down and share the journey more in depth. If you follow me on SM you have probably seen some snippets but I’m going to share it all. Hopefully my story and determination to get answers will help someone else!
I also feel in love with reading again! Almost two years ago! I use to be an avid reader many years ago and stopped reading for fun around 2015. It has been such a stress reliver and brings me peace. For a long time, I read self-help books and professional development type books. But you know what? I didn’t love them. They caused more stress & anxiety than they helpful. Reading should be fun and bring you joy! I am a firm supporter of read what you want. Read what brings you joy, not what society says you should read. Currently I keep reviews over on Instagram so you can find book reviews over there saved in my story highlights. I am an avid Kindle Reader and take it pretty much everywhere! Here is the link to my favorite one! It is easy on the eyes, adjusts to the lighting you are in, does not have a glare outside and long battery life

The last thing I’ll leave you with is about my kitchen adventures! If you know me at all you know I’m not afraid to try much! My latest big adventure was in Gluten Free Sourdough! Which let me tell you can be a challenge, but I was up for the task! There was some trial and error, but I managed to get it down pretty quickly!
Friends don’t let fear hold you back! Try the scary, challenging things! Life is so much more rewarding when you do! Until next time, Amanda
