A lot of people think of self care as taking a bubble bath and eating chocolates. And if that works for you, you do you sis! But Self Care is about taking care of yourself mentally, physically & emotionally. You can’t pour from an empty cup, you need to pour into yourself as well. Below I have shared some of my favorite self care activities. Not everything that works for one person works for someone else. Try some different ones and see what works for you!

Write 5 things that compliment yourself, that you love about yourself
Move your body. Even if it’s only for 10-15 minutes

Turn off your notifications. This can make a HUGE difference. In general I only have certain notifications on and edit as I need too.
Say no to things that make you feel bad

Play some music and dance it out
Write down 10 things you are grateful for. Don’t overthink it. It can simply be your grateful for waking up and your feet hitting the floor.
Meditate – even 5 minutes a day can have an impact
Declutter a space. Set a timer for 15 minutes and just do what you can in that time.
Read a book

Pamper yourself. Don’t over complicate. Paint your nails, do a facial mask keep it simple. Order a new top or pair of leggings or shoes you have been eyeing.
Cook a new recipe
The biggest tip I can give aside from making sure you make time to care for you is to keep it simple. Don’t overthink it. If you have to go hide in the car or closet to escape the kids, DO IT. It doesn’t matter where you do it, just matters that you take the TIME to care for YOU.
Until next time,
Amanda
